The US embassy website states that you should contact them before ordering a DNA test. So, we plan on writing to them next week to discuss our situation and also to ask if we really need to choose the lab closest to our home, as per their website. Fellow bloggers recommended Chromosomal Labs in Phoenix, AZ for the DNA test since they have a 24 hour turn around time and will e-mail results directly to the embassy. Since I am a naturalized US Citizen, I am leaving no stone unturned in getting all the documents required to prove US citizenship and residency. We know we most likely won't need anything more than an earnings statement but after years of dealing with the USCIS, I have learned to always be prepared for anything. So, I have my Social Security (SS) earnings history printed from the SS website, 5 years of W2's, IRS official Tax Return transcripts, property tax records, voter registration card and both current and old passports.

Our dear friends Bud and Merrie are giving us a baby shower at their home on July 7th, which also happens to be our wedding anniversary. It'll be a great time to meet with friends and familia before the trip to Delhi. We are leaving in a month and still have no tickets. I usually book our international tickets several months in advance! I think we'll consult with Dr. S next week and then book for July 25th Seattle>Dubai>Delhi on Emirates I can't believe we'll be on a flight to Dubai and onwards to Delhi in 4 weeks. This is all feeling surreal but exciting at the same time!
