| Our Family |
It took a couple of months and a court appearance for the twins to get their US birth certificates. The only thing that took us by surprise was that the judge wanted an agreement signed by our egg donor stating that she had intended us to be the only parents of the twins. This of course was a breeze for us since our egg donor happens to be Eddy's dear niece. Earlier this year in April, we received birth certificates issued by Washington State listing Eddy and I as "Parent 1" and "Parent 2," with no mention of a surrogate. We finally felt like our surrogacy journey had come to an end and could now focus on enjoying the process of raising our girls!

The girls have been sleeping through the night the last few months and we are finally getting our sleep back. Woohoo! Adriana started walking in May at just 9 months while Dayana started walking in early July at 10.5 months.
From the moment they were conceived, Adriana has always been bigger than Dayana. However, during each checkup, the difference kept getting smaller. Earlier this month we went in for another checkup and found that both twins had the exact same height and even head circumference!
We celebrated their birthday on August 16th with twin parties at a park and in their grandparent's home. In just the last 4 months since their birthday, they have come such a long way! They've made the switch from bottle to sippy cups and are eating most solid foods including fruits, veggies, eggs, fish and meat. Adriana eats everything while Dayana is a picky eater who wants to eat just eggs and oranges all day long. Who does that?

The pediatrician tells us that both girls are ahead in talking and understanding abilities. It's incredible listening to them become trilingual saying words in 3 different languages that they've learned from their grandparents, the nanny and from us. They are already able to recognize and address our friends, family and even their dolls by name and covey a lot of needs too. They tell us when they want milk, fruits, meat or when they want to go downstairs or outside the house. They also greet people with "Hi" and wave "goodbyes." Finally, if they don't understand what you're saying, they'll just say "I dunno!" haha
